Also called picking list, pick ticket, order picking
A pick list tells the person in the store room or warehouse what to collect. Each line has a product, a quantity, and the bin location to take it from. For batch-tracked stock, it also says which batch to pick.
A good pick list saves walking. If lines are sorted in the order the shelves appear, the picker moves through the building once instead of zig-zagging. Picking several orders together on one list cuts walking further for small orders. Pickers can tick each line off as they go.
A wholesaler has 12 orders to dispatch before lunch, covering 85 lines. Sorted by zone, rack and shelf, one picker can collect them in a single pass. Okount's pick lists are sorted by walking order and point to the oldest expiry first.
